Cats have incredibly sensitive noses. Their olfactory organs, located deep within the nasal cavity, are called the olfactory mucosa. This mucosa has a large surface area exposed to air, and its folds contain over 200 million highly sensitive olfactory cells, which are extremely sensitive to odors. Furthermore, a cat's nose has a nasal mirror; sweat and sebum keep the nose moist, making it easier for odor molecules to adhere, further enhancing its sense of smell and allowing it to detect just one of tens of thousands of different scents. At close range, cats will use their sense of smell instead of their sight. 
Cats' favorite scents:
1. Cats especially love the taste of fish; to them, it's the taste of delicious food. And salted fish, with its various seasonings, is even more irresistible to cats.
2. The taste of milk. Many cats love the taste of milk, whether it's yogurt, cow's milk, or goat's milk.
3. Catnip. Catnip is one of the most beloved scents of cats. This scent can cause cats to become disoriented and drool after smelling it, and the more they smell it, the more intoxicated they become.
