Care instructions for cats' ears:
1. Always clean and dry your cat's ears after each bath. Water splashes everywhere during a bath, and moisture can easily get into the ears. Therefore, after bathing, be sure to clean your cat's ears with an antibacterial solution to prevent moisture buildup, which can lead to ear infections.
2. For daily use, you can soak a cotton pad with pet-specific ear cleaning and antibacterial solution and rub the entire ear for 10-15 seconds to fully dissolve the dirt, then wipe it clean.
3. Some cats enjoy having their ears touched, which can help them relax. You can gently massage and massage in circular motions in the hollow behind the cat's ears.
4. Healthy cat ears produce very little discharge and do not need to be cleaned daily. Just like human ears, they only need to be cleaned about once a month.
Common ear diseases in cats:
1. Otitis externa. Most cases of otitis externa are related to bacterial, fungal, and parasitic infections. Food allergies, abnormal keratinization, tumors, etc., may also cause recurrent, chronic otitis externa.
2. Ear mites. In most cases, they parasitize the ear canal, but in rare cases they may also appear on the head, neck, and tail. It is a common and highly contagious disease in cats.
3. Polyps. Nasopharyngeal polyps are benign growths in the inner ear canal or eustachian tube of cats. They can cause middle ear infections in cats, which may lead to symptoms such as worsening breathing and runny nose.
