Why do cats knead?
1. When kittens are about two or three months old, their teeth are still growing and their teeth will feel itchy. So, kittens will put their mouths on their paws and knead.
2. When a male cat is in heat, it will try to bite something and will also exhibit kneading behavior.
3. If a cat lacks trace elements, it may develop pica, which can also cause this kneading behavior.
Solutions for cats kneading:
1. Cat owners can prepare some toys for their cats to play with. When the cat starts kneading, guide it to play with the toys instead of kneading.
2. If your cat is in heat, you need to consider finding it a mate or having it spayed/neutered to resolve the heat issue.
3. Cat owners should give their cats some trace elements, such as mineral vitamins, and continue feeding them for a period of time. During this period, they should also teach their cats not to knead. Once the cats have replenished enough trace elements, these behaviors will no longer occur under the care of their owners.
