Dietary restrictions for American Wirehair cats:
1. Milk. In fact, most American Wirehair cats are lactose intolerant, meaning their digestive system cannot process dairy products. Therefore, if they are given milk, they will experience diarrhea due to indigestion.
2. Grapes and raisins. These foods can cause kidney failure in American Wirehair cats, so it's best to avoid feeding them grapes and raisins.
3. Coffee. Large amounts of coffee can be fatal to American Wirehair cats, and there is no antidote. 
4. Raw eggs, raw meat, and bones. Just like humans, cats can become infected with Salmonella or E. coli if they eat raw eggs or raw meat. Symptoms vary and may include vomiting, diarrhea, and lethargy.
5. Chocolate. Chocolate is toxic to cats. It contains a substance called methylxanthine, which can cause symptoms in cats such as vomiting and diarrhea, fever, muscle tremors, abnormal heart rhythm, abdominal discomfort, excessive thirst, and seizures.
6. Alcohol. Alcoholic beverages and foods are toxic to cats. Ingesting these foods can cause symptoms such as vomiting, diarrhea, disorientation, difficulty breathing, coma, and even death.
