What stage is the crusting stage of ringworm in cats?
1. If a cat develops scabs, this is usually a sign that the ringworm condition is gradually improving. However, it is not considered fully recovered until the scabs fall off naturally and the affected area grows back hair.
2. Supplementing nutrition is very important when a cat has ringworm, as it helps with recovery.
3. The crusting of ringworm is a good sign, indicating that the affected area is healing. Although crusts may not look as nice to your cat, avoid removing them manually and allow them to fall off naturally.
4. After the cat's ringworm scabs have formed, avoid picking at them with your hands to prevent the ringworm from spreading again, which will make treatment more complicated. Also, during the recovery period, use antibacterial medication regularly to prevent bacterial infection.
5. During a cat's ringworm outbreak, owners should ensure their cat receives adequate nutrition. Malnourished cats are more susceptible to ringworm. Therefore, owners should not provide only dry cat food, but rather easily digestible, nutritious liquid foods.
