The most effective way to care for a Japanese Shorthair cat's oral health is by brushing its teeth.
1. Use a soft towel or sterile gauze to clean your cat's teeth, then apply garlic juice-soaked cotton balls to the teeth and gums. If you find any food residue left between the teeth, you can remove it with small tweezers. Use a mouth freshener, adding a small amount to your cat's drinking water daily to effectively clean their mouth. 
2. If there is already tartar on the teeth and the owner cannot handle it themselves, take them directly to a veterinary hospital for treatment.
