Cats are naturally clean animals, and breeds like the Shorthair don't really need frequent baths. Simply towel-drying them occasionally is sufficient. How do you towel-dry them?
1. Wet your hands with hot or cold water, and massage against the direction of hair growth from the buttocks to the head two or three times. Then massage with the direction of hair growth on the head, back, ribs, and abdomen to remove dirt and loose hair.
2. Quickly and carefully wipe the cat dry with a towel to prevent it from catching a cold. It is best to do this in a cozy place at home or in a heated room.
3. Gently brush the cat's entire body with a clean, dry brush, paying extra attention to areas that are particularly dirty. Even areas that cats generally dislike being touched, such as the belly and paws, should be carefully brushed.
4. Foam shampoo sold in pet stores does not need to be rinsed with water. Take a small amount, apply and rub it in your hands, then use a brush to clean it.
5. After carefully wiping the cat's body dry with a towel or paper towel, use a hairdryer to blow-dry it. If your Shorthair cat (see introduction) dislikes using a hairdryer, you can put it in a cage or box and let it blow warm air from a distance.
6. Once the fur has been brushed, brush it from top to bottom. Don't forget to brush the chest and abdomen thoroughly as well. After brushing, rinse the brush thoroughly.
