Why a cat has a poor appetite but good energy
1. Reasons for seasonal change
During seasonal changes, cats may have a poor appetite but good energy. In that case, it's recommended to give them some canned food or staple foods that they don't usually eat to improve their appetite.
2. Has a habit of eating snacks
If you frequently feed your cat treats, it can lead to picky eating habits, making them find treats more appealing than cat food. It's recommended to stop giving them treats, correct their picky eating habits, and limit treats in general.
3. Caused by estrus
Heat cycles can also cause loss of appetite. Cats in heat become restless and their appetite decreases significantly. If your cat hasn't been spayed/neutered, this is likely the cause. If you don't want your cat to breed, it's best to have it spayed/neutered after its heat cycle ends.
4. Suffering from oral diseases
Oral diseases in cats will not affect their mental state, but they can cause loss of appetite. So check for redness, swelling or inflammation. If so, take them to the vet for treatment.
5. Unhappy or in a bad mood
If you frequently lose your temper with your cat, it can not only cause loss of appetite but also make the cat afraid of its owner. So don't lose your temper with your cat unnecessarily.
6. Reasons related to cat food
If you don't consciously control your cat's food intake and give them too much cat food at once, it can cause the food to spoil or become damp. Therefore, it's recommended to switch to a different cat food and observe the effects.
Tips:
If your cat seems healthy and in good spirits, it's generally not sick, so don't worry. It's best to feed it at regular times and in the same amounts at the same place.
