Stray cats can be infected with plague. If a stray cat eats a rat infected with plague, is bitten by a flea infected with plague, or comes into contact with a cat, rat, or patient with plague, it can be transmitted through droplets. However, unlike humans, cats may develop plague F1 antibodies after being infected with plague and will recover on their own.

Can stray cats with plague transmit it to humans? It's possible. If you come into contact with a sick cat, it can be transmitted through droplets; or fleas from the cat can jump onto you and also transmit the plague. However, normal contact is safe.
To prevent the spread of plague from stray cats, wear a mask to prevent droplet transmission, wear gloves when rescuing stray cats, apply flea repellent to the whole body beforehand, and wash and disinfect your hands promptly afterward.
