Cat lovers often treat their feline companions like their own children, constantly feeding them, adding clothes when they're cold, cooling them down when they're hot, and buying them toys for entertainment. But do cats truly appreciate this? When you can't resist petting or cuddling them, they might suddenly bite you. On a lonely night when you want your cat to soothe your empty, lonely heart, they might brandish their claws and stay far away, leaving you helpless. Therefore, cat lovers must understand that just because we treat our cats well doesn't guarantee they'll treat us the same way. To build a good relationship with a cat, we must first understand what kind of people cats prefer.
To become someone cats like, all cat lovers need to change themselves. Cats are actually very simple and natural; they don't care about your business card or title, what designer clothes you wear, what luxury car you drive, what mansion you live in, or even how much money you have in your purse. So, what kind of person can attract a cat's attention? 
1. Indifferent people
The first point is quite surprising, isn't it? Cats are the most self-centered animals. They usually want to control the situation not because they enjoy the feeling of being superior, but because it makes them feel safe. If things don't go as planned, they immediately become alert and seek a safe place to regroup. So, when you approach a cat enthusiastically, their first reaction isn't that this person wants to be friends; they'll wonder if this person has ulterior motives. If they're unsure, they'll most likely choose to stay away.
Of course, this indifference doesn't refer to people who dislike cats or have no interest in them. Rather, it means that owners need to be indifferent at appropriate times. If you really like cats and want to get close to them, the first thing you should do is ignore them. Even if you're secretly thinking, "Ah! A cat! So cute!", you can't show it. First, crouch down to make your body smaller, and be careful not to make eye contact with the cat.
If a cat approaches you, you can extend your index finger in front of it. If the cat sniffs your index finger, it means your handshake and greeting have been successful. At this point, you can quietly and gracefully approach the cat until it loses interest and leaves.
Cats that are naturally uninterested in humans or have suffered abuse will ignore your presence. However, cats with strong curiosity and an interest in humans will be very sensitive to those who ignore them. So, they will casually approach you, touch you with their tail, or sniff your outstretched index finger, trying to leave their scent on you. At this point, you're halfway there! With a few more interactions, the cat will definitely be captivated by your even more aloof demeanor.

If you can immediately tell whether you can approach a cat or not just by looking at its expression or attitude, you should be able to get a license to be a seasoned cat driver.
Domestic cats are relatively easy to observe, while street cats or stray cats are much harder to spot. Cats' emotions are fickle and unpredictable; even the same cat may not have the same mood every time it sees you.
3. People who know how to pet a cat to make it feel comfortable.
There's a proper way to pet a cat. Whether you pet it correctly or not not only determines whether you get a kiss or a few bloody claw marks, but it's also extremely important for the relationship between you and your cat. Generally speaking, cats like their owners to touch their sensitive areas. A cat's neck and chin are its favorite places to be petted. When you gently scratch a cat's chin, it will often close its eyes contentedly and purr. However, be careful, as the carotid artery is located here, making it a very vulnerable spot for a cat.
Cats also enjoy showing their bellies to trusted owners, letting them pet them. It's important to know that the belly is the softest part of a cat's body, and it's also where their internal organs are located, making it their most vulnerable area. Cats also like their owners to touch their cheeks and whiskers, as this helps increase the sensitivity of their whiskers. A cat's facial features are also quite sensitive, so it's common for owners to pet their cats and then suddenly give them a bite. 
Fourth, people who are quiet and don't speak loudly.
Cats hate children the most. This is because children can't control their emotions and make a lot of noise. Actually, dogs do too. Children's constant chattering and shouting terrify cats, causing them to either run away or freeze in place in a battle-ready stance.
Cats dislike people who speak loudly or act rudely. Generally, cats prefer women's high-pitched voices to men's low voices. However, don't think you can win a cat's heart by imitating a few effeminate screams; deliberately screaming will only irritate a cat.
When calling your cat, raise your voice slightly and lower your tone. If your cat is in a good mood, it will respond. However, don't keep calling persistently. Cat language is notoriously difficult to understand, and you might accidentally sound like you're being defiant. Two or three sentences are enough; once you've established a connection, stop talking and quietly observe its behavior or take photos.
5. People who make their cats sleep comfortably
A cat's daily routine consists of eating, drinking, eliminating waste, and sleeping, with sleeping taking up a large portion of that time. If you prevent your cat from sleeping soundly, don't blame it for being unkind to you. Some cats prefer sleeping in their cat beds, which is quite comfortable, but those that like to sleep on your lap are not so easy to please. For some less sensible cats, don't put them directly on your lap. Instead, sit beside them when they are sleepy and offer them affectionate gestures such as massage and petting. Some cats will rest their heads on your lap when they are drowsy, or even put their paws on your lap. If they don't exhibit these affectionate behaviors, that's fine too. You can gently move them onto your lap. If the movement is appropriate, they won't resist. If the cat senses that you have ulterior motives, stop and wait for a more suitable opportunity before gently moving them onto your lap again.
Eventually, you'll move it onto your entire lap. If things go well, the cat will even climb onto your lap on its own, choosing the best spot. Once the cat enjoys your comfortable lap, it will gradually fall in love with you.
