Cat litter is a tool used by every cat owner, and there are many different types of cat litter on the market. Pine cat litter is one of the most common types. It is made primarily from pine wood, with a small amount of natural binder added to form granules. It produces little to no dust, thus avoiding air pollution. It also has excellent anti-permeability properties and good clumping and odor absorption capabilities. Below are some simple usage suggestions for pine cat litter. 
1. Use a double-layered litter box. Place cat litter on the top layer, but don't put too much. Two or three centimeters thick is fine. It's better to have too little than too much. Just enough so the cat feels it has something to scratch. Otherwise, if it's too thick, the urine won't be able to drain.
2. Don't leave the bottom layer empty either. Someone can put a pee pad or newspaper there, or you can put a very small handful of cat litter—it can be new cat litter or the old cat litter from the top layer. This is to absorb any leaked urine. This step is crucial; if you skip it, the odor will be very strong.
4. Cats using pine litter may not bury their poop very well. If your cat doesn't bury it properly, use a scoop to cover it up; the smell will disappear immediately. Wait for it to dry before scooping it out again and flushing it down the toilet. If no one is home but the house is well-ventilated, even if it's not buried properly, it will dry out and the smell will be minimal. In other words, don't clean up poop immediately; wait until it dries before scooping. Scooping once or twice a day is ideal. If you're too lazy, scooping every two days is also fine.
5. The lower layer can be cleaned every three or four days. The principle is to check if all the cat litter in the lower layer has dissolved and turned into powder before cleaning it. At this time, it is best to stir it slightly and tap the upper layer of the bowl to let the wood shavings fall down. What is left is intact cat litter. Then empty the entire lower layer.
6. Add more to the upper layer as needed; generally, it is not necessary to replace the entire layer. Repeat step 2 for the lower layer.
7. If you are a clean person, you can move the litter box to a sunny and well-ventilated place every one or two weeks to air it out, and brush the bottom with disinfectant.
Dosage: One bag of pine cat litter should last at least four months, or even half a year, for one cat. Using less is key, as the litter will expand when it absorbs water. It will usually expand first, and then break down completely when the cat steps on it or when we clean it up, rather than dissolving instantly upon contact with water as ideally.
Disadvantages: There will be some littering. If too much is put in the top layer, it is easy to make a mess of wood shavings everywhere. When burying poop, some cat litter will be dug out, but the amount is not large. Just sweep the floor frequently.
