Cats are very clean animals; they constantly lick themselves. Bathing and grooming them is not only for their appearance and cleanliness, but also helps prevent skin diseases and external parasites, and promotes blood circulation and metabolism, thus contributing to their health and disease prevention. However, unless you own a Turkish Cat that can swim, a cat will undoubtedly be terrified and meow incessantly when it first sees bathwater. 
If your cat strongly objects to bathing with water, you can use a dry shampoo method. You can use wheat bran. First, it's important to understand that this "dry shampoo" is only suitable for short-haired cats, and their fur shouldn't be too dirty. You can first heat 1 to 2 pounds of wheat bran in an oven for 20 minutes, typically at 150 degrees Celsius. Then, place the cat in a newspaper or basin and gently rub the warm wheat bran into its fur, covering the cat's entire body. Once the cat's fur is completely covered in wheat bran, you can then comb it out.
During this process, some matted fur needs to be dealt with. Uncombed fur or fur stained with feces will tangle together, forming dense, messy clumps of dirty fur. This is a favorite habitat for parasites, and in severe cases, it can even cause skin diseases. Tangled fur clumps are very difficult to remove; pulling them with a comb will only cause pain and may injure the skin. Do not use clippers either, as this may cut the skin. In general, in such cases, you should consult a veterinarian to shave off the clumps of fur.
However, this method is only a temporary solution, and it's not suitable if the cat is very dirty. Therefore, the best approach is to help the cat overcome its fear of water by giving it a proper bath.
