Angora cats are very clean animals; for example, they frequently groom themselves by licking their fur. Their saliva acts like a powerful cleaning agent, but this saliva can cause allergies in humans. Because they swallow hair while grooming, it can accumulate in their stomachs, and sometimes Angora cats may vomit hairballs. 
Angora cats still retain the nocturnal habits typical of carnivores, with many activities (such as hunting mice and courtship mating) taking place at night. Angora cats are most active at dawn or dusk, spending most of the day lazily resting or sleeping, averaging 13 to 14 hours of sleep per day, though some Angora cats can sleep up to 20 hours.
Sometimes, Angora cats urinate everywhere, while female Angora cats howl and meow wildly in the middle of the night. This is commonly known as "Angora cat fussing," indicating that the Angora cat is in heat. It was previously believed that Angora cats' heat cycle was in February or August, but there are no longer any absolute dates. Experts believe that non-pregnant female Angora cats go into heat every 14-21 days, with each heat cycle lasting 3-6 days, including approximately 2-3 consecutive days of seeking mating.
