The largest cat: Maine Coon
The Maine Coon, named after its origin in Maine, USA, is the first naturally occurring long-haired cat breed in North America, and it became a more stable breed around the mid-18th century. Maine Coons are robust, with thick fur, and resemble the Siberian Forest Cat; they are also among the larger cat breeds.
In 2010, the largest Maine Coon cat in the Guinness World Records weighed 15.9 kg and its total length from nose to tail was 123 cm, which is comparable to that of a small lion.
The most affectionate cat: Ragdoll cat
Ragdoll cats have V-shaped heads, large, round eyes, thick fur, sturdy limbs, long tails, and supple bodies. They are mostly tricolor or bicolor. Ragdoll cats feel like soft rag dolls when cuddled and are very friendly towards people. They are bold, seem to know no fear, and have a high pain tolerance, often mistakenly thought to lack pain awareness. Therefore, they are very tolerant of children's play and are ideal family pets.
Ragdoll cats' affectionate nature stems from their ancestors. Originally, Ragdolls were temperamental wild cats, but after being adopted and cared for by humans, their temperament changed drastically, becoming increasingly docile. The most expensive cat: Asera cat
A new breed of pet cat—the Asera cat. This cat has tiger stripes and leopard spots on its fur and can weigh up to 30 pounds (approximately 14 kilograms), making it arguably the "rarest domestic cat." Fewer than 100 Asera cats are produced globally each year, and each one sells for as much as $22,000.
To maintain the scarcity of this new breed of cat in the market, the company sells fewer than 100 Ashera cats worldwide each year, with 50 of them remaining in the US market.
The company has already sold two Assara cats. One has been sold to a family in Beverly Hills, a neighborhood frequented by Hollywood stars, while the other will be sold to wealthy people in Moscow by the end of this year.
Longest-living cat: Tabby cat
