Will a cat heal itself after being stung by a bee?
Whether a cat can heal on its own after being stung by a bee depends on the severity of the sting and the cat's individual constitution. Cats are generally not prone to allergies; simply removing the stinger, cleaning and disinfecting the wound, and applying medication will usually result in a full recovery within a week. However, if the cat has allergies and exhibits systemic allergic reactions, veterinary desensitization treatment is necessary.
Cats may recover on their own from bee stings, but if the cat is prone to allergies, it may experience other allergic symptoms. Therefore, after a cat is stung by a bee, the owner should use tweezers to remove the stinger and then wash the wound with soapy water.
Secondly, you need to disinfect the wound with alcohol or iodine, and apply anti-inflammatory and swelling-reducing medication to the wound and surrounding area. During this period, be careful to prevent the cat from licking the wound. It usually heals on its own within a week.
However, if the situation is serious, it may cause the cat to experience whole-body itching, redness and swelling of the affected area, and rashes. In this case, the cat needs to be taken to the vet for intravenous fluids and desensitization treatment.
