Cats are often described as having aloof and cold temperaments. However, cats that truly integrate into a family and spend a long time with their owners can develop a deep emotional bond.
They also feel lonely and deeply miss the owner with whom they often spend time.
Here are six obvious signs that your cat misses you. See if your kitten shows similar signs.

1. Guarding the gate
When a cat is filled with longing for its owner, it becomes exceptionally sensitive, alert to any movement around the front door, its gaze often fixed on the entrance, as if waiting for a familiar figure.
Whenever footsteps are heard outside the door, it will quickly rush to the door, hoping to welcome you back.
If it's not its owner, it will slowly leave with disappointment; if you return, it will happily circle around you, even lying down to show you its belly, expressing its trust and dependence.
2. Lost in dreams
Although cats are naturally mostly asleep, they will dream more frequently when they miss their owners.
Lacking the joyful moments spent with you, they may feel bored and choose to sleep to pass the long hours.
Conversely, if they don't miss you that much, they'll find their own fun, either jumping and playing around the house or playing with their favorite toys.
3. Seeking comfort through scent
Cats have an extremely keen sense of smell.
If you are not around at home, they will seek comfort on your shoes, because they contain the strong scent of their owner.
This familiar taste brings them immense peace of mind and comfort.
4. Sleeping soundly on its master's bed.
When you miss your cat terribly, it might jump onto your bed to find a place to sleep.
Your most intense scent lingers on the bed, allowing the animals to sense your presence while they sleep, adding a touch of security.

5. Loss of appetite
Excessive longing can sometimes affect a cat's appetite. Many owners have found that their cats will only eat when they are with them; when the cat is alone, the food is often neglected.
6. Keep calling out
Cats that haven't seen their owners for a long time may show signs of separation anxiety, and they will try to alleviate their longing by meowing constantly.
If you notice this behavior, you should perhaps guide your cat through some time-out training so that it gradually gets used to your daily departures and returns, and understands that you will never abandon it.
Have these behaviors ever occurred in your cat? They may be expressing their longing and dependence on you in their own way.
