Male cats generally don't recognize their own kittens. This is because cats primarily identify their offspring through their sense of smell; if a kitten smells like the male cat, it will assume it's its kitten.
However, most kittens are usually separated from male cats after birth and are fed by their mothers. Therefore, kittens generally do not have the scent of male cats, so male cats cannot recognize their own kittens.
