Cats should not eat chives. Chives contain disulfides, which can damage a cat's red blood cells, leading to hemolytic anemia, which manifests as brownish-red urine.

Furthermore, chives can oxidize red blood cells in cats, making them more fragile and severely impacting their health. This can lead to symptoms such as anemia, diarrhea, bloody urine, and vomiting, and in severe cases, even death. Therefore, neither raw nor cooked chives should be given to cats.
