Black chin in cats, also known as folliculitis, is a common skin condition that manifests as black spots or granules on the chin and around the lips. It is likely caused by a diet high in fat.

Another possibility is that prolonged use of plastic bowls can cause this. Plastic bowls easily trap dirt and bacteria, and when the cat's chin touches the surface of the bowl, these bacteria transfer to the cat's skin, easily leading to black chin. It is recommended to switch to stainless steel or ceramic tableware.
