The main causes of black chin in cats are prolonged use of plastic bowls, endocrine disorders, consumption of excessively oily cat food, a dirty living environment, and clogged hair follicles.
Generally speaking, plastic bowls are very prone to bacterial growth, so if we use them for our cats, they are very likely to develop black chin. Secondly, after cats reach sexual maturity, their endocrine system may become imbalanced, which can also cause black chin. Finally, feeding cats overly oily food, or providing a dirty living environment with insufficient cleaning leading to clogged hair follicles, can also cause this condition.
