Cats aren't afraid of cucumbers.
The reason why "cats are afraid of cucumbers" is:
1. Cats can only recognize a few colors and are very sensitive to green and yellow objects.
2. Cats are easily startled when they are relaxed. Whether it's a cat or a human, a sudden appearance of an object in a relaxed state can startle them, let alone a green object that cats are sensitive to.
3. Because the color and lines of a cucumber are similar to those of a snake, cats may mistake cucumbers for snakes and fear being attacked, which is why they react with fear. 
Precautions for feeding cats:
1. Feed your cat at fixed times and places. Cats don't like to eat in bright light or noisy environments. When guests visit, don't let them watch the cat eat, as this will greatly reduce the cat's appetite. Once a cat's feeding time is established, it's relatively fixed and shouldn't be changed arbitrarily.
2. The cat's food bowl should be used consistently and not changed frequently. A newspaper or plastic sheet can be placed under the bowl to prevent it from sliding and making noise, and also to make cleaning easier. Leftover food should be collected or thrown away and mixed with fresh food, cooked, and then fed to the cat next time.
3. Cats prefer warm food. Cold food can easily cause digestive disorders and affect their appetite. Generally, food taken from the refrigerator should be heated before feeding, with a temperature of 30-40℃ being ideal.
4. Cats have a bad habit of carrying food outside the food bowl to eat or using their claws to hook food. Once this is discovered, it should be corrected immediately.
