Ear mites in cats are not difficult to treat. With proper care and consistent treatment, the ear mites will gradually disappear. Afterward, regular cleaning of the ear canals will greatly reduce the likelihood of your cat getting ear mites again.
The correct way to treat ear mites in cats:
1. Isolate the cat and clean the house. It's important to isolate your cat after it has ear mites, as they are contagious to other cats. Close contact easily spreads the infection, so if you have multiple cats in the house, isolate this one. After isolation, clean the house thoroughly. Cats with ear mites produce a lot of dark brown discharge in their ear canals. Some of this discharge sticks to the skin in the ear canal, while some falls off as the cat moves. Contact with this discharge can also lead to ear mites. Therefore, regularly mop the floors with household disinfectant and wash anything the cat has come into contact with. 
2. Clean ear canal secretions. Cleaning the ear canal is crucial in treating ear mites. Ear mites in cats often occur because excessive ear secretions attract parasites, allowing them to multiply. Therefore, the first step in treating ear mites is to clean the ear canal. Before treatment, wrap the cat in a towel, then hold the cat's head still and gently wipe the ear canal with a damp cotton ball. You can also apply a little ear oil to the ear canal first, and after the secretions soften, wipe the ear canal clean with pet wipes. After cleaning the secretions, pour in an appropriate amount of cat ear cleaning solution to help clean the cat's ear canal.
3. Pay attention to post-treatment care. After your cat has ear mites, clean its ear canals daily with pet wipes. When the ear discharge gradually turns yellow, the cat scratches its ears less, and the ears no longer smell, it means the ear mites are almost gone. Continue with the aftercare. Some cats will scratch their ears after getting ear mites; in this case, put a cone on your cat to prevent this behavior.
