Cats have a variety of eye colors, including yellow, brown, blue, orange, green, and amber. The diversity of eye color in cats is largely related to their breed and genetics. Some breeds have distinctive eye colors; for example, purebred Ragdolls and Siamese cats have beautiful blue eyes, while yellow is most common in domestic shorthair cats. Additionally, some cats with certain coat colors also have unique eye colors; for instance, pure white cats are prone to having heterochromia (different colored eyes). 
How do cats get their eye colors?
1. There are two main reasons for the eye color in felines: iris pigmentation and blue light reflection.
2. Pigmentation of the iris is caused by melanin, and the color ranges from lemon yellow to light brown to dark orange or brown.
3. The transparent structure of a cat's eye is also a transparent blue, ranging from colorless to very deep blue or a violet-like blue. This combination of reflected blue light and the colors produced by pigmentation in the iris constitutes all the eye colors of a cat.
4. Iris pigmentation and transparent structural pigments are both controlled by multiple genes at different locations on chromosomes. Kittens from the same litter inherit these multiple genes from their parents in a mixed manner, resulting in different eye colors. The mixing of different multiple genes leads to an arrangement of light and dark colors.
